Refund Policy

If your child doesn't get on with Nichy AI, we'll refund you — simply and quickly. Email info@nichy.ai and we'll sort it the same working day. The full details are below for transparency.

The short version

We want Nichy AI to feel risk-free. If your child doesn't get on with it, email us at info@nichy.ai and we'll make it right. In practice that means:

• 14-day no-questions-asked full refund on your first paid month or year. • Pro-rated refund of the unused portion of an annual plan at any time, if you ask. • Fast refunds on genuine failed deliveries, duplicate charges, or billing errors — usually same working day.

You never need to call anyone, fill a form, or justify your decision — a one-line email is enough.

1. Your 14-day cooling-off right

Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of starting it and get a full refund, with no reason required.

To use this right, just email info@nichy.ai from the address on your account within 14 days of your first paid charge. We'll process the refund the same working day. Refunds land back on the original card within 5–10 working days (Stripe's timing, not ours).

Note on digital services: when you start a Nichy AI subscription you're giving us permission to begin providing the service straight away. Technically that means for any premium feature you actually use during the 14 days (e.g. an AI-marked written answer, a generated study plan, a timed mock submission) we're entitled to keep a reasonable portion of the subscription fee. In practice we don't do that — if you ask inside the first 14 days we refund in full regardless of usage. We mention it here only because the law requires us to.

2. Pro-rated refunds on annual plans

Annual subscribers can get a pro-rated refund for the unused months of their current year at any point, not just inside the 14-day window.

The calculation is simple: (months remaining ÷ 12) × amount you paid, less any months you've already consumed. Example: paid £149.90 for Premium annual, used 4 months → refund = (8/12) × £149.90 = £99.93.

To request one, email info@nichy.ai and mention "pro-rated annual refund". We don't charge an admin fee for this.

3. Monthly plans — cancel any time, no refund by default

If you're on a monthly plan outside the 14-day window, cancelling simply means your subscription doesn't renew next month — you keep premium access until the end of the current paid period and we don't charge you again.

Monthly bills aren't refunded by default once consumed, but we'll always make an exception for a legitimate issue (illness, bereavement, child decided 11+ isn't for them, service problems on our end). Just ask — a quick email is enough.

4. Automatic refunds we issue without you asking

You don't need to contact us for the following — our systems detect them and refund you automatically within 1–2 working days:

• Duplicate charges on the same card for the same subscription. • Charges after a successful cancellation (shouldn't happen, but if it does, it's refunded in full). • Service outages lasting more than 24 continuous hours — we refund a day's subscription per 24-hour outage. • Chargeback / dispute reversals through your bank — Stripe handles these directly.

5. The face-to-face Paper Class (Sutton, 31 October 2026)

If you've booked a paid seat on an in-person Paper Class and need to cancel:

• More than 7 days before the class → 100% refund, no reason required. • 2–7 days before → 50% refund (venue costs are locked in). • Less than 48 hours before → no automatic refund, but we try to find a replacement seat and credit you if we do. • If we cancel the class for any reason → 100% refund, within 3 working days.

To cancel a seat, email info@nichy.ai with the child's name and class date in the subject line.

6. What we don't normally refund

To be upfront about the edges:

• Historic charges from more than 60 days ago, unless they're a verifiable error — talk to us if you think they are. • Subscriptions on an account closed for breach of our Terms (abuse of the AI, scraping, sharing credentials). • Charges you dispute via your bank without first contacting us — please always try us first; it's faster and avoids a chargeback mark on your card.

7. How refunds reach you

Refunds always go back to the original payment method — we can't send them to a different card or bank account for anti-fraud reasons (this is Stripe's rule, not ours).

Processing times:

• Debit / credit card: 5–10 working days to show on your statement. • Apple Pay / Google Pay: same as the underlying card. • Bank transfer (rare): 1–3 working days.

You'll get an automatic Stripe email confirming the refund the moment we trigger it, with a Stripe-side reference number for your records.

8. Chargebacks and disputes

If you ever disagree with a charge, please email info@nichy.ai first — in 95% of cases we can resolve it faster than a bank chargeback (which typically takes 45–90 days).

We handle every dispute politely and in good faith. Nichy AI does not contest chargebacks that fall under the categories listed in sections 1–5 above; we only contest clear fraud (e.g. unauthorised sign-ups with stolen cards).

9. How to request a refund

One route for everything: email info@nichy.ai from the address on your account.

Include:

• The parent name on the account • Approximate date and amount of the charge • One line on why you'd like a refund (optional, but it helps us improve)

That's it. No forms, no portals, no login walls. We reply within one working day — usually within a couple of hours during UK office hours.

10. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this refund policy affects or limits your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If any part of this policy is less generous than your statutory rights, your statutory rights prevail.
